Community weather stations

The Mukoko Weather Stations console at weatherstations.nyuchi.com lets anyone put a weather station on the map. Validated readings replace the modelled “current conditions” on weather.mukoko.com for everyone within 50 km — ground truth beats a model every time.

  1. Sign in at weatherstations.nyuchi.com — the same Nyuchi account used on weather.mukoko.com.
  2. Choose Register a station, give it a name (e.g. Marondera High School), and set its coordinates — the Use GPS button fills them in if you’re standing at the station.
  3. Pick the station type: Digital (a console that uploads automatically) or Analog (manual readings).

Most consumer stations (Ecowitt, Fine Offset, Ambient-style, and compatibles) support a “customized upload” destination. Point it at the mukoko network — no Weather Underground account required:

Imperial units are converted automatically, and every reading passes plausibility checks (quality control) before it becomes a validated observation.

Farms and schools with a rain gauge and thermometer — no electronics — log readings directly in the console. Open your station card, enter any of temperature (°C), rainfall (mm), humidity (%), pressure (hPa), or wind (km/h), and submit. The same quality checks apply, and accepted readings join the network exactly like digital ones.

station hardware / manual entry
→ raw archive → quality control → validated observation
→ live current conditions on weather.mukoko.com (within 50 km, last 60 min)

Station status — last reading time and latest metrics — is visible on your station card in the console. Your ingest key stays in your browser and your hardware; treat it like a password.
